WHY PAKISTAN?

WASTE MANAGEMENT: Pakistan generates about 30 million tons of solid waste a year, which has been increasing more than 2 percent annually. Most municipal waste is either burned, dumped or buried on vacant lots, threatening the health and welfare of the general population. The Government of Pakistan (GOP) estimates that 71,000 tons of solid waste is generated per day, mostly from major metropolitan areas. The local market has shown moderate growth in terms of its volume and FDI contribution during the past few years. Both the public and private sectors have or will initiate small to large-scale projects, small-to-large scale waste collection and waste treatment projects. According to industry experts, the local market will continue to offer sizeable business opportunities to local and foreign companies for the foreseeable future.

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT: With several energy and infrastructure projects nearing completion, the multibillion dollar CPEC is now entering the crucial phase of industrial development. Three prioritized Special Economic Zones are set to take off, Beijing agreed to cooperate in the development of Faisalabad, Hattar and Dhabeji industrial areas. Development of the SEZs is the most critical part of the Long Term Plan of CPEC that promises industrialization of Pakistan, Therefore, there would be huge demand for facilities management in those projects in coming few months.
